Sandboxie Plus is an improved version of Sandboxie. This tool allows you to run an isolated instance of a program on your computer. Thanks to this, the program you run cannot interact with the rest of your operating system, which is important for protecting against viruses and spyware.
Likewise, any program you install in the sandbox won't leave behind junk files when you uninstall it. With Sandboxie Plus, a program or app can be executed or installed without permanently modifying parts of the Windows registry or placing files directly onto your computer.
Unlike the Classic version, Sandboxie Plus has a modern interface and additional features. For example, it allows a sandbox to be backed up and restored at any time. It also allows you to run it in portable mode, lock Windows components, or use a command to close all processes.
Most of the new features provided by Sandboxie Plus are entered through its interface. With the Classic version, you can enter them by modifying the .ini configuration file, whereas with Sandboxie Plus, you can do so more conveniently from the interface itself.
When a Windows program is running on Sandboxie Plus and you have the interface open, the program will have a yellow box on the inside to indicate that it's not running directly on your PC. In the task bar, a [#] will appear in front of the program.
To install a program on Sandboxie Plus, just drag it over. All the programs that you run on Sandboxie Plus will be saved to C:/Sandbox. If you want to delete all the program's files, simply delete the sandbox in which it's located. That way, it won't leave a trace on your computer.
